I always had a love for the red and white Hereford animals and growing up had a dream to be in the cattle business. We are now going to make that dream a reality.
We believe that the Hereford breed will be the new future of the cattle business. The commercial breeders are looking at the Hereford bulls to improve the growth and quality in their herds as well as the docile nature of the breed.
Our farm is located 70 miles west of Minneapolis, MN in the heart of corn, beans and alalfa hay grounds.
We believe that with the location of our operation in Minnesota we will be able to serve the US for the Commercial Cattlemen and the other Hereford Breeders in the country. In our quest to put together a herd that will give us the Hereford bulls and
heifers that other cattlemen are looking for we felt it was very important to pick some of the best Hereford cattle we could find.
I started researching on the internet and ran into a couple of farms that I liked the breeding of the cattle and the people. I noticed that the west coast seemed to be more prominent in the horned cattle and the further east, the polled darker red animals were more prominent. I picked a farm in the Midwest and a farm on the West to form my base herd.
Since we have started in the Hereford business, we have met some great people and have seen some great cattle. I have gone to a few sales and was able to attend the Denver Stock Show in 2009. A better understanding of the genetics has made me realize the importance of picking the best for my herd.
We have started with a good foundation and will be matching these females with the bulls to breed the kind of cattle the large commercial ranchers are going to use.
Breeding cattle that can fit into the herds of fellow Hereford breeders is also part of our vision.
